Case Histories

Head-Neck

A Woman of 28 had been experiencing almost constant headaches for 6 months, as well as a stiff and painful neck. She had 2 sessions of BSR. After each one, the pain withdrew but returned within a day. Detailed questioning revealed that she had been using a new skin cream about 6 months before. She then stopped using it, and after one further session of BSR her neck stabilised and the headaches ceased.

A Man of 42 complained of numbness in his arms, pins and needles in his fingers, and weakness of the hands. Body stress was released in his neck over 3 sessions. He reported that full sensation and strength had returned to his arms a week later.

A woman in her thirties had suffered from frequent attacks from asthma since a neck whiplash in a car accident, four months previously. After three sessions of BSR full movement was restored to her neck and all symptoms of asthma had ceased.

Upper Back

Every few months a four year old girl would wake up in the night with severe stomach pains.
On each occasion she was rushed to hospital but all tests were negative. After a few hours the pain would ease. The BSR assessment showed body stress in the lower rib and diaphragm areas. Questioning the mother revealed that the little girl at times requested iced fruit juice before going to sleep. The problem did not recur as the mother withheld the iced drinks.

After cutting his lawn with a heavy mower, a 40 year old man experienced a sudden severe chestpain and breathlessness. The condition continued for two weeks, although medical tests were all negative. After body stress was released in the sternum and rib area the pain withdrew and did not recur.

After recovering from a bout of bronchitis, a woman in her forties experienced continual upper back and chest pain for 3 weeks. Body stress in the muscles between the ribs was released and all pain withdrew.

Lower Back

A 48 was experiencing such intense calf pain that he was unable to walk. He was not aware of any pain in his lower back. A week of traction in hospital had not eased the problem. After the first session the lower back became very painful as feeling was restored to numbed nerves. The calf pain was unchanged.
After the second session three days later the pain withdrew from the calves and was felt in the hips and the lower back. After further releases 5 days later, the pain in the lower back begun to lessen. The final session was 3 days after that. Within two weeks the client was pain-free and was able to return to work.

For several years a 15 year old boy had experienced the embarrassment of frequent bed-wetting, as well as intermittent lower back pain. After three sessions, in which pressure was released in the lumbar spine, he had no further bladder problems. The bedwetting recurred a year later after a heavy fall at rugby, but cleared up once more after two sessions of BSR.

A 31 year old woman walked with one foot rotated outwards, since a motor accident in her teens. She frequently woke with her lower back in a painful spasm. She underwent regular BSR after a period of 3 months. Her foot was restored to its normal position and her buttock muscles, which had been wasted, had rebuilt.

Having been run over as A child and now in his early 50s. 'C.P' had lived with severe back pain for most of his life, as well as the calf cramps and shoulder pains and head aches, the most uncomfortable complaint was that if he touched or knocked the sacral illiac spine area on his lower back, he would feel a very sharp stabbing pain and his legs would almost give way.
On the fourth session he was prodding the area excitedly as there was no sharp pain or discomfort, the stabbing pain had gone, and he had not had any calf cramps in the night.

Scoliosis

When I was 13 I underwent an operation on my back because I had a condition called Scoliosis (which viewed from the back is an ‘S’ shaped curve) my GP sent me to see a consultant and he said I needed major surgery. This was a total shock for me as I have been a very active person and dance regularly in shows. By the time of the operation I was told the curve was 65 degrees out.

The operation took 7 hours to complete, in which time the surgeons placed two stainless steel rods between my spine and screwed and plated it together, also they had to break several ribs so that my ribcage could be pulled straighter.

For the few days I could do nothing but lay in a hospital bed, I was very weak and on lots of pain killers, like morphine which made me very sick.

After 6 months I was back at school, still in a lot of pain and taking pain killers. I became so frustrated with the pain I would drink lots of alcohol and mix it with the pain killers; I ended up taking twice the recommended dosage. This time was a very low point in my life as when questioning the doctors at the time they said I would have the pain for the rest of my life, and keep taking a stronger dosage of pain killers as my body was getting used to them.

Well this is the good news, I now live with ‘NO’ more pain and I’m not on any pain killers, I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old, both with easy births.

I can honestly say this is because of Body Stress Release I know without it I would not be able to do the things that I do now; I have even started dancing again. So much for living on morphine for the rest of my life, I go for a release now and then just to keep me in good shape.
